ABOUT
Photo by Rebecca PontieriHae Ji Cho (she/her) is a Korean Brazilian American creative currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
With a BA in Film from Emerson College, she pursued a career in the entertainment industry where she has worked in scripted and unscripted media as a director, story producer, production coordinator, casting producer, assistant to award-winning directors, and indie producer. These opportunities have led her to projects that have gone on to receive nominations for the Clio Awards, Webby Awards, Shorty Awards, Micheaux Film Festival, and more.
In 2023, she co-wrote and co-directed the short film BIRTHDAY DINNER. She has since been awarded the Voices With Impact Production Grant two years in a row, allowing her to co-direct the film ALL MEAT DIET (2024) and direct her first animated film SORRY I MISSED YOUR CALL (2025). Her stories often explore questions about the responsibility of love, what makes us feel worthy of connection, and the endless forms of duality found in the human experience. Moving into new projects, she hopes to continue collaborating with artists who value vulnerability, humor, and compassion.
In her free time, you may often find her making pottery at her local studio, creating jewelry, or blasting either Brazilian funk or an educational podcast (somehow there’s no in-between) on a walk around her neighborhood.
